I love this poem. It is a song/poem by Leonard Cohen. He's amazing at writing verse. I like his work much better in the form of poetry than when he sings them.

I miss martinis. I haven't had one in about a month and I'm going nutso. Oh well at least I still have the other milk of life....coffee.

01. I hurt: When I tried so hard to love and give everything I could to the kids I was a nanny for and then they turned around and treated me like crap

04. I cry: when I think of my parents because I miss them a lot.

08. I feel alone: Often. I think it is mostly because I just moved here and although I'm surrounded by a lot of really great people, deep down I feel alone because no one really understands where I'm coming from yet.

12. I break: guys hearts and then feel guilty.


13. I see: the world through rose coloured glasses.


14. I smell: the star gazer lillies I bought to liven up my room. They are so perfect. A new bud blooms everyday.

16. I work: hard to keep in touch with old friends.


17. I remember: how much I hated last year and how much I loved the year before that.

18. I hold: onto pictures. They are my favourite memories.

19. I hide: my feelings too often when I'm with a guy.


20. I do: nothing for hours when I am procrastinating. Oh wait...like right now.


21. I walk: across campus to the theatre building.


22. I drive: nothing...oh how I miss driving.


23. I read: plays


24. I burn: microwave popcorn


25. I breathe: from my diaphram


26. I play: theatre sports


27. I miss: My parents, my bedroom, my car, second cup, just my home in general.


28. I touch: everything. Kinisthetic.


29. I learn: from doing things

My theatre teacher says we should "dare to be boring." He says in his class we are not allowed to "act" we are just allowed to "be."
